Greyshire Glacial Grotto (Menace) is a Level 65 Menace Dungeon locked behind the vault in Greyshire Glacial Grotto.

Guide

A Menace Sleeps in the Grotto is one of the few secret dungeons that can be found inside of Final Fantasy XV, but in comparison to some of them, this one is a tad more on the short and linear side. What that ultimately means though is that you’ll be done with this particular quest this much faster. You will find this particular dungeon near Callatein’s Plunge and can make a start from there!

It’s recommended that you enter the dungeon around level 65 and that every single room that you enter there will be a demon of some kind lurking within; primarily skeletons. You will also find Cryonades inside that tend to grow in size, up until they finally start to explode. At which point, you’re going to want to keep some nice distance from them, because while it is nice to have them deal with themselves, the amount of damage they can do to you isn’t really something I would recommend trying to endure. Thankfully, these guys aren’t the biggest fan of fire or polearms, so if you plan accordingly you won’t have anything to concern yourself about too much.

Along your way you are going to come across a couple of cockatrice foes, but considering that you will have thought a numerous amount of these by this point of the game you will have all the knowledge you’ll need to deal with them accordingly.

Throughout almost the entirety of this dungeon you’re going to be following along a linear route that very rarely differs in size, location, or whatever else. However, at 3 separate times in this dungeon there are larger rooms that have a multitude of exits, with each one having its own exit that will get you that much closer to the boss.

For these 3 big rooms, you’re going to want to go through the following exits to keep making progress:

  • First – Door to the right of where you entered
  • Second – The exit that’s situated in the middle of the others
  • Third – Then the left to leave those big rooms behind

After you finally make it through to the end of the dungeon you’re going to encounter a demon that resembles that of a Ronin. Since you will have fought the Ronin type enemies a number of times before, any of your previous tactics will work exactly the same. The only real difference between this guy and the ones earlier in the game is that he hits hard and has a lot more health this time around.

Once you’ve taken down the Ronin, you will be treated to the ending of the dungeon and all of the spoils of adventure that will come with it.
