Hello, (/r/FFXV). This one was definitely worth doing a guide for, however, I'll try to provide as many methods as possible for the non-Season Pass players because this Timed Quest leans heavily towards the Season Pass players, as far as time and efficiency goes. This Timed Quest is quite the tough one, most definitely just as tough as Dread Behemoth or even tougher considering the restrictions, etc. However, I enjoyed making this guide since it took longer to do experiments and well, I thoroughly tested everything and have came up with the following methods that will be listed down below. I must say, I had the most fun creating this guide because of the immunity the Tyraneant monsters had. It took a lot of trial and error to figure out what the best methods were for time trimming and well, generally efficiency. This guide includes methods that requires the use of items, etc. Much different to the previous guide!

So, what are we waiting for? Let's get right to it!

nyone who is doing this in less than 5 minutes, is abusing the Armiger Glitch. The actual time to do this is anywhere from 15+ minutes. I do not recommend using the Armiger Glitch, since - what's the point being in the top ranks on a single-player console game? I wouldn't be too sure what you'd be trying to prove. One does not simply be recognized when cheating

Additional Information

People had been wondering about the best ways to farm Wind-up Lord Vexxos. I've added a farming method, friendly to both Season Pass and Non-Season Pass players. I figured this would be necessary, I hope this helps those who has no intention of climbing the ranking but has more intention for the farming phase of the Wind-up Lord Vexxos. You can locate this information at the bottom of this guide, after all the efficient methods for EXP/Ranking.

Recommendations

Zu Beak

I highly recommend farming Zu Beaks for this Timed Quest. Why? Limit Break spells will be important for this.

Don't know how to farm Zu Beaks? - Don't fret, (/u/LemonEatingKowGaming) has a comprehensive (Zu Beak Farming). Give it a watch and you'll see how to farm them!

Season Pass Players Method #1 - Ignis Overwhelming

Noctis

Main Weapon: Bow of the Clever Royal Arms Equipped for Attributes: Sword of the Father & Axe of the Conqueror Magic Equipped: Limit Break Freeze (999 Potency) - [Optional, but recommended] Accessories: Tech Turbocharger, Ribbon/Rainbow Pendant, +Strength Accessory for last slot - (Honestly, either MV1 or MV2 would work if available!) Costume: Prince's Fatigue (No Jacket) / Royal Raiment Ignis

Technique: Overwhelm Accessories: Ribbon/Rainbow Pendant, +Vitality, +Vitality - (Honestly, either MV1's or MV2's would work if available!) Food

I used Golden Tail Soup. This will get you occasional 9999's during Overwhelm. I didn't try any +Strength/HP recipe but this is also a plausible choice if you don't have the Golden Tail Soup recipe yet! The Trick

Block around and fill up your Tech-bar. Once you're ready to use Overwhelm, pop a Freeze on the Tyraneant, preferably try to time it where it hit both of them. Pick one target and Overwhelm. Repeat this. Notes

If you don't want to use too much Limit Break spells, then use it when you so desire. I had prepared a lot of Zu Beaks so I'm all down to using it as much as possible, personal preference. If you so happen to choose not to use any *Limit Break Spells, then you can just follow the guide-lines and ignore the **Magic part. However, as stated above, magic use is definitely recommended.*

Season Pass Players Method #2 - Armiger

Noctis

Main Weapon: Your Default Weapon - Doesn't effect Armiger since Armiger uses all available Royal Arms. Royal Arms Equipped for Attributes: Sword of the Father & Axe of the Conqueror Magic Equipped: Limit Break Freeze (999 Potency) - [Optional, but recommended] Accessories: Armiger Charger, Ribbon/Rainbow Pendant, +Strength Accessory for last slot - (Honestly, either MV1 or MV2 would work if available!) Costume: Prince's Fatigue (No Jacket) / Royal Raiment Food

Golden Tail Soup If you don't have Golden Tail Soup, any +Strength recipes can replace it. The Trick

Block around and fill up your Armiger Bar. Once you're ready to use Armiger, use Power EX Use Freeze on the Tyraneant, preferably try to time it where it hit both of them. Pick one target and Armiger.

Non-Season Pass Players Method #1 - Overwhelming Freeze!

(Limit Break Spells = MUST)

Noctis

Main Weapon: Bow of the Clever Royal Arms Equipped for Attributes: Sword of the Father & Axe of the Conqueror Magic Equipped: Limit Break Freeze (999 Potency) Accessories: Ribbon/Rainbow Pendant, +Strength Accessory, +Strength Accessory - (Honestly, either MV1's or MV2's would work if available!) Costume: Prince's Fatigue (No Jacket) Ignis

The Trick

Attack the Tyraneant with Warp-strike or basic attack to fill up tech-bar faster. (Counter as much as possible for extra damage!) Once you're ready to use Overwhelm, pop a Freeze on the Tyraneant, preferably try to time it where it hit both of them. Pick one target and Overwhelm. Repeat this. Notes

Considering you can't charge up your tech-bars as fast as the *Season Pass Players*, I do recommend popping as much Limit Break Spells as possible. You'll be farming a lot of Zu Beaks! It will take a very long time if you don't sacrifice Limit Break Spells

Non-Season Pass Players Method #2: Armiger

(Limit Break Spells = MUST)

Noctis

Main Weapon: Your Default Weapon - Doesn't effect Armiger since Armiger uses all available Royal Arms. Royal Arms Equipped for Attributes: Sword of the Father & Axe of the Conqueror Magic Equipped: Limit Break Freeze (999 Potency) - [Optional, but recommended] Accessories: Ribbon/Rainbow Pendant, +Strength Accessory, +Strength Accessory - (Honestly, either MV1 or MV2 would work if available!) Costume: Prince's Fatigue (No Jacket) Ignis

Technique: Enhancement Accessories: Ribbon/Rainbow Pendant, +Vitality, +Vitality - (Honestly, either MV1's or MV2's would work if available!) Food

Golden Tail Soup If you don't have Golden Tail Soup, any +Strength recipes can replace it. The Trick

Keep attacking the Tyraneant to fill up your Armiger bar faster, you won't charge it up as quick Season Pass Players otherwise. - (If I remember correctly, even if you use Zwill Crossblades or any other weapons, upon invulnerable hits, you can still charge Armiger. I may be wrong but I remember doing it at one point and successfully charging Armiger. I think I did it on Custards/Dolces back in Menaces, for some odd reason.) Once you're ready to use Armiger, use Ignis's Enhancement - *(I'd recommend using this 2 times minimum. If you have a third bar filled, use 3. Use Power EX Use Freeze on the Tyraneant, preferably try to time it where it hit both of them. Use Armiger on one of the Tyraneant. Notes

Considering you can't charge up your tech-bars as fast as the *Season Pass Players*, I do recommend popping as much Limit Break Spells as possible. You'll be farming a lot of Zu Beaks! It will take a very long time if you don't sacrifice Limit Break Spells If you REALLY don't want to use/farm Zu Beaks, then ignore the magic part. Not recommended for time efficiency, however.

Non-Season Pass Players Method #3: Don't want to farm Zu Beaks? No problem'o!

(Slowest Method) (Limit Break Spells = MUST)

Noctis

Main Weapon: Star of the Rogue Royal Arms Equipped for Attributes: Sword of the Father, Axe of the Conqueror, Ulric's Kukris Accessories: Ribbon/Rainbow Pendant, +Strength Accessory, +Strength Accessory - *(Honestly, either MV1 or MV2 would work if available!) Costume: Prince's Fatigue (No Jacket) Ignis

The Trick

Warp-strike spam the Tyraneant's, or you can simply throw Shurikens at it like a ninja the whole time. However, I do suggest warp-striking and breaking it's appendages. Whenever Armiger comes up, use Ignis's Enhancement. 2-3 pops would be just fine! Use Armiger of one of the Tyraneant. Repeat! Notes

This method is for the ones who doesn't want to farm any Zu Beaks whatsoever. This is by far the slowest method.

Wind-up Lord Vexxos Farming Method #1: Armiger - (Season Pass Players)

Noctis

Main Weapon: Your Default Weapon - Doesn't effect Armiger since Armiger uses all available Royal Arms. Royal Arms Equipped for Attributes: Sword of the Father & Axe of the Conqueror, Ulric's Kukris Accessories: Ribbon/Rainbow Pendant, Armiger Charger, +Strength Accessory - (Honestly, either MV1 or MV2 would work if available!) Costume: Prince's Fatigue (No Jacket) / Royal Raiment Food

Golden Tail Soup If you don't have Golden Tail Soup, any +Strength recipes can replace it. The Trick

Block around or attack the Tyraneant until you charge up your Armiger bar. When your Armiger bar is ready, pop it and target it's Face/Horn. If all goes well on the first Armiger, you should break it's horn for either a Treant Trunk or Wind-up Lord Vexxos. This is all RNG. If you don't break the horn, repeat the process. Do this for both the Tyraneant. Once you break the horns for a chance at the Wind-up Lord Vexxos for both of them, leave the aggro perimeters and intentionally fail the Timed Quest. Restart the Timed Quest and fall back to step 1. Rinse and repeat until you're satisfied.

Wind-up Lord Vexxos Farming Method #2: Ninja Mode, Activated! - (Non-Season Pass Players)

Noctis

Main Weapon: Star of the Rogue Royal Arms Equipped for Attributes: Sword of the Father & Axe of the Conqueror, Ulric's Kukris Accessories: Ribbon/Rainbow Pendant, +Strength Accessories, +Strength Accessory - (Honestly, either MV1 or MV2 would work if available!) Costume: Prince's Fatigue (No Jacket) / Royal Raiment Food

Golden Tail Soup If you don't have Golden Tail Soup, any +Strength recipes can replace it. The Trick

Target the Tyraneant's Face/Horn. Repeatedly Warp-strike until you break it's horn for a chance at either Treant Trunks or Wind-up Lord Vexxos Of course, with the downside to all royal arms, your HP will decrease rapidly and there is no way to mitigate this. Use a potion whenever deems necessary. Repeat this process for both the Tyraneant. Once you've broken the horn from both the Tyraneant, leave the aggro perimeters and intentionally fail the Timed Quest. Restart the timed quest and fall back to step 1. Rinse and repeat until you're satisfied.

Wind-up Lord Vexxos Farming Notes

If you want to save time by efficiently, I recommend saving at the start of the farm. Similar to that with MV2, when you'd save/reload to save time rather than let time goes by. Unless you don't mind farming Wind-up Lord Vexxos during the night with a possibility of Daemons spawning, by all means. Just a quick note!
