Bow of the Clever is a Royal Arm Weapon.
How to Obtain
Optional Royal Arm. Found in Balouve Mines, southern Leide.
Movesets
- Basic combo: Shoot with the crossbow. No reloading. Bolts travel through enemies and can hit multiple foes. Damage drops off the further you are from the enemy.
- Any directional input + O: Dash in that direction. Might have I-frames. Quickly release and re-push the stick to make Noct jump in the air and begin aerial combo.
- Aerial combo: Shoot once.
- Phase-counter: Shoot.
- Warp strike: Warp near the enemy and shoot them 4 times point-blank.
- Note: Like most ranged weapons, the Bow uses magic stat in damage calculations.
- How to use: Shoot stuff. You have amazing mobility to kite enemies. Works best with magic loadout. Also, try Overwhelm with this thing.
Additional Information
- Unique warp strike: Noctis will not strike initially, rather, he will set up for a barrage of arrows at point blank range. Aims high for some reason, and will miss most enemies except large ones.
- Directional input during fire will make Noctis perform a quickstep, similar to daggers. Fully invincible during the duration. Releasing the directional input and inputting it again during the dodge performs an MP-free airstep.
- Damage is greatly reduced as you go farther from your opponent. Kind of weird how a ranged weapon is strongest up close.
- Trait: Overpenetration. Arrows will continue past enemies to hit other enemies behind. Good for multi-encounters, but each enemy struck will also drain your health, which can lead to a quick death.
- Pro-Tip: Combining with Overwhelm gives it an insane fire rate and damage. You can enter danger state in Overwhelm, so be careful you don't accidentally drain all of your health.
