Guide on How to Obtain Sturdy Helixhorn
Do the usual and obtain the recipe for the Mother and Child Rice Bowl down by the parking spot in Lestellum. Get the hunt for the spiralhorns, but don't start it yet.
You must obtain Cerberus, a sniper rifle.
Turn on wait mode for this fight. Camp, use the mother and child rice bowl for the droprate, equip cerberus. Kill all three spiralhorns, should be easy enough, this leaves you space to get at the duplihorns.
Warp point somewhere far away, hopefully your team will be smart enough and get aggro, if not, use the Gravisphere technique with Prompto if you are finding it hard to scope them while they aggro you. If you don't need to, warping away and scoping fast should suffice.
Wait mode comes in handy because it pauses the game when you scope, allowing you to target the horn. Attack just above the base of the horn and it is a guaranteed break. You can just aim and attack without scope and still have a high chance of break, much more than hardedge, since Cerberus has a special ability to cause high appendage break.
It might require another couple of steps to obtain, but the steps are fun and you get a sweet sniper in the process of obtaining the Ultima Blade fairly early on.
