What can I say? Cactuar Genocide in 2017. Pretty much, as everyone already knows, Cactuar/Slactuar Tume Timed Quest is by far the easiest, and fastest EXP income by miles. I was doing each run in about 5-6 minutes. I'll explain how I shaved off so much time after I get past explaining the basics.

Experience Required from 99-120

I cannot say for sure since I sat at level 99 and farmed 10 million base EXP before going to Leville in Altissia for the 3x EXP turning it into 30 million. But for sure, 30 million EXP is over-kill. I had a lot left over. I would recommend farming anywhere between 8.5 million - 9 million EXP before going back to Leville in Altissia to turn it in and reach 120. It is safe to assume that you will need at least 25 million EXP to go from 99 to 120.

Prompto's being useful, for once!

Yes, this is legitimately Prompto carrying the entire Chocobro squad on his back. Since Noctis, Gladio and Ignis has no role in this, surprisingly!

Prompto's Equipment

  • Technique: Gravisphere. Hands down, the best technique required to make this grindfest fly by the easiest. It's an area of effect skill, of course.
  • Weapon: Anything because it doesn't matter.
  • Secondary Arm/Spell: If you have the Gravity Plus, use it. It helps drawing more Cactuars/Slactuars in.
  • Accessories: Ribbon / Moogle Charm. By far the two core accessories for Prompto in this matter. Last slot, you can either use another Moogle Charm or a +HP accessory since Gravisphere damage scales your HP. (If you don't have a Ribbon, use a Rainbow, which prevents confusion and Star Pendant, which prevents poison).

Noctis's Equipment

This doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is to make sure you have the Tech Turbocharger equipped if you have the Holiday Pack items. Also, make sure someone, besides Prompto has the Nixperience Band on to prevent any EXP consumptions. (In case you misclicked at Caravan/Hotel going back and forth, instead of calling Umbra)

Note: Make sure EACH character has at least one Moogle Charm.

Food Buff

Self explanatory but I'll explain just in case if anyone doesn't know.

Alternative Food Buff

If Ignis' cooking level is 10, you will automatically receive the Lasagna al Forno recipe. However, you'll need to had beaten the main storyline prior to being able to purchase the Jabberwock Sirloin, otherwise, having to farm Jabberwock for a chance of the sirloin isn't worth it. So for those who had beaten the storyline, go ahead and purchase the ingredients from the Meldacio Hunter HQ and camp at the closest camp from the Cactuar/Slactuar repeatable. This is definitely faster than going all the way to Altissia via Umbra and back again.

Note: You will need to come back as soon aa your finish up the round of Cactuars when your buff ends.

Tips/Advice for Cactuar/Slactuar Repeatable

  • Do NOT waste your time chasing Cactuars/Slactuars with warp-strike. This is a waste of time and it DESTROYS the pathing patterns for the Cactuars/Slactuars.
  • By the tower, where you pick up the repeatable after finishing the first round, stand there. Literally. Stand there, and face the direction where the Cactuars/Slactuars will come from which is EAST.
  • Once all set, sit back, and hold L1 and use Prompto's Gravisphere whenever it pops.
  • Choose the best target, specifically the Cactuar/Slactuar in the middle of all the others.
  • Last but not least, enjoy watching all the red dots on your minimap disappear within Prompto's Gravisphere.
  • OPTIONAL - If you have any Expericast, go ahead and pop them. If not, that is fine too because you'll be getting 175k EXP at least per 5-6 minutes. I personally never use Expericast regardless, I dislike the feature.

Note: Why shouldn't you move and stand still? Because as I said, it destroys the Cactuar/Slactuar's spawn pathing. I realized they all end up running towards the tower regardless. So if you go to them, they will scatter around you thus chasing with warp-strike becomes a pain in the back side. Especially if you can't actually hit them and you're spamming Warp-strike.. Haaah)
